JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Architecture and Engineering (TA&E) consultant will help customers gain greater control of their quality data by providing custom solutions to challenging data projects.  This role will work directly with a Senior TA&E resource following their direction and guidance. 

The TA&E Consultant will assist customers in scenarios where:

  • MC databases need to be merged together
  • Their MC database needs to be separated into multiple databases
  • Specific data and/or documents need to be extracted from a database. 
  • The customer Database needs to be cleansed by removing incorrect or invalid data
  • The customer is on an Oracle database and it needs to be converted to a SQL database 
  • Custom and/or basic reporting of MasterControl data using jReports

The TA&E consultant will have a superior knowledge of SQL and Oracle database manipulation, along with the ability to easily learn the database table structures.   A certain degree of creativity and thinking outside the box is required.

The TA&E Consultant provides multiple levels of support for MasterControl customers. This role must also be able to develop relationships with the customer and several departments within MasterControl. This role works with Professional Services Consultants, Project Office, Enterprise Support, Sales and other company resources to ensure customer's expectations are aligned and delivered with customer satisfaction and loyalty at the forefront.

This role may cross over with Professional Services Consultant responsibilities.  The role will be cross trained on configuring a MasterControl system according to the Services Best Practices. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Understand and execute best practice on documentation practices for regulated industry requirements.
  • Logs defects in the defect tracking tool.
  • Updates, maintains reports to customers and internal key contacts.
  • Strong focus on team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness, and thorough communication.
  • Work with a Project Manager and the project team to ensure timely delivery of tasks and assignments.
  • Use the Professional Services Automation tool to log time and client documentation.
  • Other duties as required.

 PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Advanced Microsoft Windows server knowledge
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL knowledge
  • Vware/Hyper-V experience preferred
  • Expertise with Cloud systems and/or platforms
  • The ability to be creative using problem solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.
  • Expert understanding of relational databases and advanced script writing.
  • Oracle experience/knowledge desired.
  • LDAP, ADFS and SAML experience preferred
  • Knowedge of jReports and/or other data warehousing reporting systems

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May work a variety of schedule hours, as required.
  • Some travel required
  • Must be able to work well with deadlines and with direction from Project Owners
  • Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail
  • Ability to work on tasks autonomously, but also be comfortable asking for assistance or guidance, when necessary
