SUMMARY

The Associate Helpdesk Specialist provides support by identifying, researching and resolving technical issues associated with both hardware, Audio/Video and software-related needs. The position requires prompt attention and quick resolution for technical problems to ensure minimal down time. The Associate Helpdesk Specialist works in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, interfacing regularly with all divisions of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide first point of contact for technical support for incoming end-user issues/problems received via email, ticket system or telephone
  • Perform troubleshooting face to face or remotely, through diagnostic techniques and asking pertinent questions.
  • Administer, maintain, and provide support for MasterControls various IT systems, including computer hardware and peripherals, (corporate desktops, laptops, PDA's, printers and audio visual equipment) and applications such as email (Office 365).
  • Maintain, document, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution. Provide end user training where required.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Senior Members of the IT Team with Team Lead or IT Director approval.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of Windows client operating systems and applications, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Self-driven, and motivated with the ability to take on projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to shift between projects/tasks to keep up with workload.
  • Strong communication skills - writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies using VMware.
  • Experience of firewalls and network switches.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work well with people, both face to face and remotely
  • Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Occasional weekend work will be required.
