MasterControl is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Customer Success department in the US. Our ETD engineers are integral to and active throughout the entire software lifecycle. They actively communicate with all affected parties (product managers, product owners, scrum masters, developers, sales, services, managers, and customers) to ensure software quality that meets the needs of our Customers. They design, develop, test, debug, troubleshoot and maintain MasterControl software applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and proficient in the discipline, capable of working in both an independent and collaborative setting. The ETD team works closely without Enterprise Support teams to decrease overall resolution times and triage critical situations.

Creative minds and superb organization are essential attributes for ETD Engineers. They should be analytical and methodical individuals who enjoy problem solving and challenges. The candidate will need to understand business and technical requirements and translate this into reporting designs and deliverables. The position also requires supporting the SDLC process regarding testing, deployment, and post-production support.


  • Follow development processes and procedures for software creation and maintenance
  • Implementation and testing of software
  • Responsible for varied assignments, requiring a broad knowledge and the effect the work has on other areas
  • Travel may be necessary for Customer on-sites or training
  • Monitoring industry and product trends which could benefit the company
  • Work with deployment team in the code migration across the SDLC environments
  • Triage Customer issues, with an emphasis on defect resolution
  • Design test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements
  • Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies to quality standards
  • Work within an agile environment to resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing


  • MasterControl product knowledge preferred
  • BSCIS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years work related experience
  • Programming knowledge/experience (Java, ColdFusion, Angular, Spring, Ruby, etc.)
  • Software/Web automation scripting experience (Selenium WebDriver, HP UFT, Capybara, Watir, etc.)
  • Ability to work in an agile team environment and adapt to constructive criticism
  • Experience troubleshooting and testing software required
  • Experience with other development tools such as JBuilder, SQL Server Management Studio, and Concurrent Versioning Systems
  • Experience interfacing with databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
  • Software Development Lifecycle experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, trust-building, conflict-resolution, and writing skills
  • Passionate about creatively solving business problems
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment


  • Operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone, and e-mail
  • Ability to successfully operate a laptop computer, MS Office Suite products and develop useful reports when called upon
