The Associate Software Architect as part of the System Architecture Team is responsible for ensuring that the architecture of the system can support business features. The team partners with Product Management to elaborate features and discover needed architectural changes. The team is responsible for providing architectural and big-picture oversight for development of new or enhanced software products. This role is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical support to the development teams. This person will define the system, technical and application architectures for major areas of development and recommend the course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.  The role will stay up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues.  They will research and implement best practices frameworks/capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery.  The role will research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology. 



  • Prepare work for agile teams.
  • Provide estimates for high level work.
  • Help business owners understand the technical impact of changes to the system.
  • Help define and protect system quality attributes/non-functional requirements.
  • Help provide technical leadership.
  • Build and provide prototypes as necessary.
  • Keeps current on emergent technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Solid proficiency in Java & Angular. Certifications preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge in design patterns, diagramming tools, build systems, CI/CD, IDEs, and other aspects of software development.
  • Several years developing in a SaaS environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience with different architectural patterns and their trade-offs.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology ideal.
  • Preferred DevOps mindset.
  • Strong expertise with Java applied to building highly scalable, complex solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to constructive criticism.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations.



  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail.
  • Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
