As MasterControl continues to expand its Cloud offering, customer retention and expansion are keys to continued growth and our position as a premier Life Sciences solution provider.  Successful implementation and use of the MasterControl products are critical to achieving customer success and our achieving our mission of helping our customers get their products to market faster and with higher quality.  MasterControl is seeking an experienced leader to manage our Project Management team.  This includes managing, mentoring, and standardizing processes for both waterfall and agile projects.  As a member of MasterControl's Customer Success team, the PMO Manager will be expected to work cross-functionally with all departments in MasterControl and our Partners to execute on strategies that result in industry leading levels of customer retention and expansion.



  • Responsible for leading our project manager team to deliver successful software implementation and upgrade projects
  • Lead the efforts around project delivery methodology creation, standardization, and optimization
  • Refine and create SOP's, Work Instructions, and other process documentation as required
  • Identify the critical metrics for ensuring successful project completions and customer satisfaction
  • Align processes with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and promote best practice implementations
  • Multi-task and prioritize various projects and requests as needed
  • Act as the liaison between stakeholders/ C level executives, business, and development teams to ensure customer needs and expectations are met
  • Forecast resource and capacity requirements to meet demand and growth requirements within budget
  • Adapt project management methodologies and processes as needed to support Sales efforts
  • Create short and long-term goals that align to department and corporate goals and strategies
  • Manage customer escalations and initiate corrective actions as necessary
  • Participate in cross-departmental committees, improvement efforts (kaizens), and strategy sessions
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and travel as required
  • Bending, stooping and lifting are integral aspects of this position
  • Both Domestic and International travel will be required
  • Working in the MasterControl corporate office required


  • 5+ years of experience in management required
  • 5+ years of experience in software service delivery required (SaaS preferred)
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience required
  • PMP certification highly preferred
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies required
  • Proven ability to de-escalate customers and recover failing projects
  • Life Sciences industry experience preferred
  • Proven track record with successfully managing a PMO within budget
  • Experience managing billable resources in software service delivery required
  • Customer Success obsessed mindset required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills required
  • The ability to contribute to a strong leadership team required
  • Software validation experience preferred
