Job Summary:

The Marketing Events Intern will coordinate and implement event projects with the events team which include tradeshows, customer conferences, local events and corporate events.  Responsibilities may include purchasing, event advertising, ordering supplies, direct mailing, shipping, website updates, troubleshooting, reporting, organizing, printing, venue and entertainment sourcing, and research.  The Events Intern must have exceptional organizational skills and customer facing skills.  Candidates must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the marketing and events industry.   This role plays a critical role in representing the company to customers and prospect, and will report to the Senior Manager of Events. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the company and company brand is properly acknowledged in show directories, press kits, and websites
  • Represents the company in a variety of events by familiarizing themselves with corporate marketing goals, campaigns, products, and initiatives
  • Plans external events while balancing company resources and objectives
  • Researches, suggests, and books venues and entertainment for events
  • Selects/orders catering/menu selections for events
  • Coordinates AV requirements for events
  • Manages shipping for all events and event related needs
  • Manages proper inventory, storage, ordering, and organization of all event related materials
  • Manages all printing of name badges, certificates, materials, and agendas for events
  • Collects headshots and bios for event speakers
  • Manages genius desk schedules appointments during customer conferences and coordinates with Sales opps
  • Collects session descriptions and presentations from presenters
  • Orders booth furnishings, carpet, electrical, name badges, and lead retrieval for tradeshows
  • Creates demo schedule in electronic format for tradeshows
  • Ensures proper set up and break down of the booth for each event through coordination with other company attendees
  • Maintains possible tradeshow and association opportunities spreadsheet
  • Maintains events calendar(s) and appropriate invites to event attendees for each event
  • Updates, manages, and reports on tasks in project management software
  • Updates and manages event registration tool, including updates to content, troubleshooting, reporting, and testing of registration paths
  • Imports lead info from business cards to excel spreadsheets
  • Manages/organizes events files
  • Maintains events reports
  • Assists event attendees with travel bookings when needed


  • Travel is required to the annual Masters Summit for this position.  (estimated 6 days) 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse at a desk for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via face to face, telephone, email, etc.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to set up, take down, and properly store heavy materials typically associated with event equipment, and graphics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new software features and applications.
  • Mastery of planning, coordination, and task prioritization skills.
  • SalesForce, Cvent, Trello, and Workfront systems knowledge are a plus. 

Education and Training:

  • 1-3 years of experience in event planning, event management and event coordination.
  • Prior experience managing trade shows and other events for corporate entities, preferred.
