JOB SUMMARY:

The role of the Scrum Master is to assist self-managing teams in achieving their goals within the Scaled Agile framework through helping team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate. He or she will guide, coach, and educate teams through iterations, retrospectives, product backlog management, and decision making. The Scrum Master will also enforce the roles of the scrum process throughout the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scrum Master for assigned teams
  • Coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Train and communicate status to scrum of scrums
  • Assist with PI planning, System demos and estimating duties
  • Promote SAFe quality practices and build a high performing team while leading the team's effort in relentless improvement
  • Facilitate product increment planning, sprint planning, team level goal setting, and commitment to deliverables
  •  
  • Facilitate continuous improvement cycles that focus on moving teams to be self-organized and high-performing
  • Work with the product owner to coach scrum teams on user story sizing and acceptance criteria definition, facilitates the definition of minimal viable product, and leads continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog
  • Eliminate impediments for the team

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to understand technical issues and relate them to business needs
  • Understand fundamentals of iterative & incremental development
  • Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate others
  • Leadership experience in a technical environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer or business related discipline (Computer Science, Computer engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration or Management, etc) or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of work experience in IT in a Scrum Master capacity involving continuous process improvement, project management, business requirements and analysis, and/or technical proficiency
  • 1+ years working in agile SDLC
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, particularly Scaled Agile Framework

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) preferred
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred
  • SAFe Agilist (SA) preferred
  • Experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology, Blood & Biologics or ISO Certification a plus
