JOB SUMMARY:  The Customer Sales Representative Manager acts both as a manager and as a Customer Sales Representative.  As a Manager he/she will collaborate with various managers and executives within MasterControl. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment is essential.  One of the primary responsibilities of a manager is to lead and motivate the sales team to achieve specific goals. The Customer Sales Representative Manager should be able to build and train a high performance sales team, ensure customer satisfaction, work with existing customers in a consultative capacity in order to identify new sales opportunities.

The Customer Sales Representative Manager's role, as a Customer Sales Representative involves finding and developing additional business opportunities by developing relationships with current customers within an assigned territory. The Customer Sales Representative works in conjunction with Regional Account Executives to develop both long-term strategies and specific campaigns. The Customer Sales Representative builds and maintains relationships with existing customers through multiple strategies, including campaigns, phone calls, e-mails, and on-site visits. The CSR also provides customers with everything they need to be successful, which may include a wide variety of tasks, including development of pricing quotes, product demonstrations, and participation in trade shows or various sales or marketing campaigns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Customer Sales Representatives through weekly team and one-on-one meetings
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement changes and training
  • Organizes and participates in cross-departmental projects and meetings
  • Research new methods to increase customer success and engagement
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development to ensure consistent messaging and increase sales
  • Outbound prospecting of customers for the development of targeted opportunities 
  • Spearhead customer relationship activities 
  • Maintain accurate customer account data in customer relationship management software (CRM)
  • Develop strategic plans to drive user adoption of MasterControl Software and increase the number of licenses
  • Create, maintain, forecast and report on opportunities using customer relationship management software (CRM)
  • Facilitate new programs, messages, campaigns and offerings

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proven experience as a sales manager
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
  • Software sales and/or marketing experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required
  • Ability to understand, implement, create, and communicate standard operating procedures for job functions is required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate project details among multiple departments
  • Ability to complete projects by critical deadlines
  • Knowledge of the Life Sciences, Medical Device and Manufacturing industries is preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), computer systems, and communication tools

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in a technical or business discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Work experience should include a minimum of 2 years in a software sales or software sales support role

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to work non-standard hours
  • Some travel as required (15%)
  • Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Bending, stooping and lifting are required on occasion
