JOB SUMMARY:

The Customer Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing company-wide communication channels with existing customers (not prospects) with the ultimate goal of improving customer loyalty. With proper training, the Customer Marketing Specialist is expected to have a strong understanding of the various channels of customer communication used throughout the company. This person must work closely with representatives from various departments throughout the company to create, coordinate, and streamline all customer communications. This may include, but is not limited to, communication channels such as MasterControl's customer website, email, surveys, newsletters, blogs, social media, events, speaking opportunities, etc. This person will work closely with various specialists within the marketing department (writers, designers, event managers, etc.) to generate and publish creative messages designed to help our customers achieve higher levels of success and increased loyalty to MasterControl as a company. Excellent project management and communication skills are required. This position is critical to assisting the marketing team to further promote customer success and customer loyalty, ultimately increasing company revenue. Works under immediate supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify appropriate communication channels for MasterControl's existing customers
  • Effectively prioritize each channel to produce the best possible results as soon as possible
  • Maintain a focus on A) customer success and B) customer loyalty throughout our entire customer set
  • Create effective win-win-win relationships so that the goals, wants, and needs are met for 1) the customer, 2) each department throughout company, and 3) the marketing/sales department
  • Become knowledgeable about existing marketing content and make good decisions regarding the redistribution of existing content vs. the creation of new content
  • Assist with the management of an internal customer advocacy tool (Influitive) and customer reference program
  • Become an expert on MasterControl's customer website and work with others to continually improve all aspects of the website
  • Make good decisions regarding the ROI of each project
  • Understand the value and goals of MasterControl's content marketing strategy
  • Create effective methods to track and report on program success
  • Work with company personnel and partners to create and schedule various types of content
  • Propose and effectively manage an annual budget related to our efforts with customer marketing
  • Propose additional programs to promote customer success and loyalty
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Effectively communicate both in writing or verbally in person and on the phone
  • Work at a desk for an extended period of time
  • Some travel required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid project management experience required
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to create and maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects concurrently without close supervision required
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well with various teams is required
  • Ability to quickly learn and use various third-party technologies is required (i.e. SalesForce, Influitive, DOMO, SiteCatalyst, etc.)
  • Experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting on marketing data is preferred
  • Experience generating creative marketing messaging is preferred
  • Good experience with Microsoft Office products is preferred

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, marketing communications, or business discipline or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Work experience of a minimum of 2 years in marketing, marketing communications, advertising, or similar discipline is preferred
